Henry County Animal Care & Control
Field & Enforcement Services

Each day, six animal control officers patrol the county,
serving our more than 186,000 residents. Officers assist the
public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with emergency services
provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week by an on-call officer.
Animal Control field officers respond to the following routine calls for service:
- Area patrols
- Impound of stray and/or unrestrained dogs and cats
- Vicious animal complaints
- Cruelty investigations
- Animal bites
- Animal noise complaints
- Abandoned animal complaints
- Injured animal rescues
- Pick up of dead companion animals on county roads
- Loose livestock on roadways
- Public Safety Departments’ requests for assistance
After hour, weekend and holiday animal control services are limited to emergencies only. Emergency calls for service include:
- Injured companion animals with no one to come to their aid
- Aggressive animal(s) running at large
- Animals that have bitten a human.
