District 1 Commissioner
Henry County Board of Commissioners
Commissioner William “Bo” Moss and his family have over a 100-year history in Henry County – including his parents, Homer “Bud” Curtis Moss and Dorothy Moss. He has been married to his wife, Connie, for 46 years and they have two children and five grandchildren. Commissioner Moss has owned and operated a successful small business in Henry County for over 40 years.
Bo is a proud sponsor of the Henry County Veterans’ Wall of Honor and the Dictionary Project, providing dictionaries to third grade students each school year. Bo is also an avid aviation enthusiast. He is certified from the Charlie Brown Airport Flight School and licensed as a private, instrument and commercial pilot.
Commissioner Moss holds a certificate from the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government and the Association County Commissioners of Georgia’s Lifelong Learning Academy Certified County Commissioner Program. To earn the certification, commissioners are required to complete eight classes as well as attend a two day leadership academy for a total of 66 credit hours. He also recently completed both the eleven-week Citizens Police Academy and the eight- week Citizens Fire Academy to obtain a better understanding of those departments, recognizing the unique challenges for Henry County’s public safety professionals.
Taking a conservative approach to government and a belief in fiscal restraint and responsibility, Bo places an emphasis on improving the economy. He values open and transparent government and fostering better communication and participation between the citizens of Henry County and their elected officials.
