Employee Benefits
Employees are paid every other Friday
– 26 pay periods per year. Insurance premiums are deducted
only 24 times a year. For specific benefit topics, please
select from the categories below.
Annual Leave
Annual Leave (vacation) is earned
as follows:
- 0 months – 5 years: 10 days per
year
- 6 years – 15 years: 15 days per
year
- 16 years – 20 years: 20 days per
year
- 21 years and over: 23 days per year
Sick Leave is earned at the rate
of one day per month for a total of 12 days per year.
Employees receive nine paid holidays
per year.
Insurance benefits are offered to
employees working over 32 hours per week.
New employees are eligible for insurance
coverage on the first day of the month following one full
month of employment.

Dental Insurance

The dental insurance is with Delta Dental. Dental
coverage is provided free to the employee and family coverage
may be purchased for $41.12 per month. |

Blue Cross Blue Shield offers
a choice between five medical plans - HMO or POS. There are four tiers of coverage for each plan and the cost to
the employee depends on the option chosen. |

Life Insurance

The county provides life insurance for each employee.
The amount is equal to one year’s salary. |

Long-Term
Disability
 |
The county provides long-term disability for each employee.
The benefit starts after the employee is out of work for
six months and continues until age 65. |

Retirement
 |
Retirement is managed by GEBCorp. Employees are required
to contribute 6% of annual salary for the Defined Benefit
Program. Also available is an optional 457b Deferred Compensation
Program. |
