Certified Police Officer
Henry County is accepting applications for the position of Certified Police Officer in the Henry County Police Department. This position enforces laws related to the protection of life and property, directs and controls traffic, prevents crime or disturbance of peace, and arrests violators. Listed are some of the essential duties and responsibilities: They shall enforce all statutes, laws, ordinances, regulations and procedures of Department; maintains law and order, protects life and property and performing related assignments. Applicant shall become familiar with State Traffic Codes, Criminal Procedure Codes & Ordinances. Patrols assigned area on foot, by motorcycle, in patrol car, to enforce laws, prevent and discover crimes, investigate crimes, maintain order, and answer calls and complaints. Answers radio-dispatched or citizen’s request for police services at the scene of accidents, domestic disputes, law violations, and peace disturbances. Qualifications: valid Georgia driver’s license; must submit a three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report at time of interview; completion of police training and education as required by Georgia Law; good moral character; No felony or domestic violence convictions, satisfactorily explain other than honorable military discharges, and must be physically fit and able to perform the duties of police officer.
Salary - $36,523.76

Crime Scene Technician
CRIME SCENE TECHNICIAN
Henry County is accepting applications for the position of Crime Scene Technician in the Police Department. This position applies scientific principles to analysis, identification, and classification of mechanical devices, chemical and physical substances, materials, liquids, or other physical evidence related to criminology, law enforcement, or investigative work by performing the following duties: performs a variety of analytical examinations; analyzes items such as paint, printed matter, paper, ink, fabric, dust, dirt, gases, or other substances; identifies hair, skin, tissue, blood, bones, or human organs; examines and classifies explosives, firearms, bullets, shells and other weapons; reconstructs crime scene, preserving marks or impressions made by shoes, tires, or other objects by plaster or moulage casts. Minimum qualifications include completion of a standard high school program with one year of relevant experience; Georgia certificate in Crime Scene Technology; knowledge of administrative duties and familiarity with common office computer practices as necessary in the completion of daily responsibilities; valid Georgia driver’s license and submit a (3) three year Motor Vehicle Report at time of interview.
Salary - $39,403.63

Laborer
Henry County is accepting applications for the position of Laborer in the Department of Transportation. This position is responsible for performing unskilled manual work on a paving, construction or maintenance crew; landscaping, seeding and/or cutting grass; serves as flagger on paving and construction projects; loads and unloads stone, gravel, dirt, asphalt and pipe; and performs related work as required. Qualifications include High school diploma preferred, a valid Georgia driver’s licenses; must submit a three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report at time of interview; any combination of education and experience will be considered.
