Henry County is accepting applications for the position of Certified Police Officer in the Henry County Police Department. This position enforces laws related to the protection of life and property, directs and controls traffic, prevents crime or disturbance of peace, and arrests violators. Listed are some of the essential duties and responsibilities: They shall enforce all statutes, laws, ordinances, regulations and procedures of Department; maintains law and order, protects life and property and performing related assignments. Applicant shall become familiar with State Traffic Codes, Criminal Procedure Codes & Ordinances. Patrols assigned area on foot, by motorcycle, in patrol car, to enforce laws, prevent and discover crimes, investigate crimes, maintain order, and answer calls and complaints. Answers radio-dispatched or citizens’ request for police services at the scene of accidents, domestic disputes, law violations, and peace disturbances. Qualifications are valid Georgia driver’s licenses; must submit a three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report at time of interview; completion of police training and education as required by Georgia Law; Good moral character; Honorable discharge ONLY for persons with military service; No felony or domestic violence convictions and must be physically fit and able to perform the duties of police officer.

Henry County is accepting applications for the part-time position of Certified Nursing Assistant in the Senior Services Department. This position is responsible for performing routine homemaker, personal support care and/or respite care for home-bound Senior Citizens.

Qualifications include High School diploma or GED equivalent; additional technical training that leads to State Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is required along with one (1) year of work experience performing household management work. Knowledge of in-home personal care for the elderly and their personal needs is vital for this position; knowledge of household management and the ability to skillfully perform household chores; must have own transportation with sufficient liability coverage, be able to make home visits and submit a three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report when interviewed. Valid Georgia Driver’s License is required. Any equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Attorney l

This position is responsible for representing defendants who qualify and have been criminally charged with a felony offense in the Flint Circuit, Judicial District in Georgia. Equipment Operator III

The duties associated with this position typically involves: Managing of a DOT/Storm water Infrastructure GIS Database; incorporating Survey Data into the existing DOT/Storm water GIS Database; managing of a Field Picture Database; incorporating Field Pictures into the DOT/Storm water GIS Database; managing of a field survey crew; plotting specialized maps; assist engineers in designating pipe replacement projects; recommends new software add on’s for improved data analysis functions; training and assisting survey crew on usage of GPS with Mobile Matrix; perform related duties as required.

Qualifications include bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Civil Engineering, Geography, GIS or Computer Science, Surveying or planning. Five plus years of progressively complex experience or schooling in GIS, Computer Cartography, Geography, Remote Sensing, Spatial Analysis, Surveying or Engineering. Experience with open source GIS software (QGIS, GRASS GIS, etc.) ArcGIS version 9.3.1 and higher; experience in developing Arc GIS Desktop Add-ins and Python Scripting. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.  Must possess of a valid Georgia driver’s license.
