Hall of Fame: 2010 Inductees
The People who have been nominated for the Hall of Fame are people who changed the face of their community for the better through the efforts of volunteerism and the vision of Recreation to better serve the citizens of Henry County.
Ralph Allen
 Mr. Allen played recreation baseball from 1958-1965 in the towns of McDonough, Ola and Stockbridge. Mr. Allen was also a coach for the Locust Grove Association for 8 years. He served as the Locust Grove Baseball representative for 6 years.
Raymond Bailey
 Mr. Bailey started as an assistant coach to the Locust Grove Tomboys in 1971. He became head coach in 1972. Mr. Bailey also coached or helped with Locust Grove Baseball until 1986. He was involved in the Men’s Church Softball leagues from 1987-1996. During this time he also served as an umpire for Henry County. Mr. Bailey served on the Board of Directors for the Locust Grove Association, Softball Director as well as Tournament Director.
Gary Barham
 Mr. Barham began playing baseball in McDonough at a very young age. After his two children were born, he became involved in the McDonough Youth Association. Mr. Barham was a member for 12 years and serves as Vice President for 6 years. Mr. Barham served as president of the Kwainis club of McDonough and was involved with the Umpires Association.
Joseph Martin
 Mr. Martin served as president of the Fairview Civic Club starting in 1978. Mr. Martin served as a board member for many years after that, and coached girls softball and boys baseball through the mid 1980’s.
Richard McBrayer
 Mr. McBrayer played semi pro baseball in Ola in the 1950’s. He served as a past President of Hampton Youth Club and coached baseball in the 60’s. Mr. McBrayer was Vice Chairman of the first Henry County Recreation Board in 1974. He was one of the original organizers and first president of the Henry County Umpires Association.
Harvey Thurmond
 Mr. Thurmond coached football, basketball, baseball and softball between the years of 1952-1962. Mr. Thurmond was involved in Umpiring little league in 1967-1968. Mr. Thurmond spent many years involved in the youth association for Henry County.
Buster Smith
 Mr. Smith coached baseball and football from 1974 to the mid 1980’s. He served as president of baseball for the Stockbridge Athletic Association from 1977-1979. His commitment and passion for the Stockbridge community and the kids who played could never be questioned. In 1979 the baseball program had over 400 kids playing at Cochran Park, which was a record number at that time.
