Cement Stabilized Base Reclamation Construction
and Resurfacing on Various County Roads
The Henry County Board of Commissioners is accepting bids from qualified vendors for cement stabilized reclaimed base and hot-mix asphalt placement on 13 County roads (approximately 18.50 miles). This includes but is not limited to traffic control (including temporary striping), cement stabilized base reclamation (8” thick with the addition of Portland Cement), resurfacing (2 inches of 19mm S.P. and 1.5 inches of 12.5mm S.P.), the placement and sanding of asphalt prime, building shoulders (including grassing) and striping using Thermoplastic. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and services required to fulfill the terms and conditions of this bid. All bidders must be listed on the current Georgia Department of Transportation Pre-qualified Contractors list.
Bids will be received by Henry County Board of Commissioners, Purchasing Department, 140 Henry Parkway, Room 209, McDonough, GA 30253 until 3:00 PM local time on May 25, 2016. Late bids will not be considered nor returned.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. The Bid Bond may be in the form of a surety issued bond or cashier’s check made payable to the Henry County Board of Commissioners. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to Henry County, Georgia as liquidated damages if the bidder fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within fifteen (15) days after being notified that he has been awarded the Contract.
Payment will be made on a monthly basis for work performed the previous month, less ten percent (10%) retained by the Owner. Invoices shall be paid within 30 days after approval of the Engineer/Project Manager.
The work on this project shall be completed within one hundred twenty (120) calendar days after receipt of the written Notice to Proceed.
Bids may not be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the time and date set for bid opening, except as allowed by OCGA. Henry County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any technicalities.
