Permanent Process Servers
Permanent Process Servers are appointed on an annual basis. In order to be considered for appointment, petitioners must meet specific requirements for consideration. To become a permanent process server for State Court, the requesting party must submit a petition for appointment which attests that he or she meets all of the established requirements. Petitioners must also sign and return an official application for review and consideration. In addition, all petitioners MUST submit a copy of a recent (within one year of application) criminal history check for review. A self-addressed-stamped envelope must be included with applicant’s submission, in order for the petitioner to be notified of approval through a signed copy of the Order of Appointment.
Filing Fees
Effective January 1, 2011, all applications for permanent process servers for the Henry County State Court must be accompanied with a $211 filing fee. Checks and/or money orders should be made payable to: State Court of Henry County. Applications submitted without the filing fee, will be returned without processing.
Renewal Dates
You may submit Application for Permanent Process Server at any time during the calendar year (January – December); however, the appointment is effective for one year from the date of the signed Order of Appointment. Timely renewal is the responsibility of the applicant and no reminders will be sent.
Requirements for Appointment
- Must submit an official application packet for review or renewal
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must provide a copy of a criminal history check (dated within one year of application)
- Must not have committed any serious criminal offenses
- Must attest he/she does not suffer from any debilitating mental or legal disability that would impede appointment
- Check or money order in the amount of $211 made payable to State Court of Henry County
Notification Process
Once the information is reviewed and a decision regarding appointment is made, a copy of the Order of Appointment will be forwarded to the petitioner’s attention confirming his or her status as a Permanent Process Server. Petitioner must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope to receive a copy of the Order of Appointment.
