Skip Floyd serves as the Director of Technology Services, and in that role he manages all operational aspects of Information Technology including Strategic Planning, Budgeting, Business Process and Control Management, IT Policy development and management of the TS Department and staff.
Skip first began his career with the Henry County Board of Commissioners in January 2008 as a Senior Applications Architect and was promoted to Director in January 2014. His career in Information Technology began in 1985 with the US Army where he served as a Land Combat Support Systems Test Specialist for four years. In 1989 Skip moved into the private sector and started managing IT projects at Lanier Worldwide as a Senior Software Engineer. From there, he kept his former title but moved over to Elite Technologies and then Serologicals where he worked for eight years before coming to Henry County.
Skip graduated from the United States Army Missile and Munitions Center and School and the United States Army Non Commissioned Officers Academy. He was presented with the Outstanding Professional Award in 2013 by GMIS International and has received three Army Achievement Medals, an Army Good Conduct Medal, and a division-wide Holger N. Toftoy Award for Highest Worldwide Readiness Rates in Missile Command.
