Director - Taleim “Tye” Salters
Taleim “Tye” Salters is the Director of the Henry County Transit Department, joining County government in 2014. He manages a staff of 25 and a fleet of 26 transit vehicles, in a department that provides daily, on-demand transit service throughout the County.
A native of New Haven, CT, Tye brings a wealth of experience with him, with more than 22 years of experience as a professional driver, supervisor and manager. Before coming to Georgia, he was associate manager for the Greater New Haven Transit Department (GNHTD) and managed a team of more 90 employees, including dispatch staff, drivers and other personnel, and worked diligently to ensure the day-to-day functions of the Operations Department were in order to provide outstanding service to customers.
He studied marketing at Bowie State University in Maryland, and prior to working for GNHTD, he served as a driver for the contractor who operated GNHTD's paratransit. In his various roles with GNHTD, he was instrumental in the planning and development of new and more efficient bus routes, collaborating with other agencies to provide outstanding customer service to passengers.
