Alex Mohajer - Director of the Department of Transportation
Joining Team Henry in March 2020, Alex Mohajer is Henry County Government’s Director of Transportation. He brings a wealth of experience to his role with over 38 years in the civil engineering profession and 29 years in government management.
Mohajer is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with both undergraduate and master’s degrees in civil engineering. He has also completed a level-III management certification program by the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Management in Government, and is currently a registered Professional Engineer, P.E. in the State of Georgia and has been for the past thirty-years.
His previous positions include Director of Engineering with DeKalb County Government and Public Works Director and Interim City Manager with the City of East Point. Mohajer has also managed the Civil and Structural Engineering Department for MARTA.
Mohajer’s broad civil engineering career include direct involvement in the development of the Georgia Stormwater Design Manual; is currently a certified Water Resources Master Modeler; has received a Level-700 NIMS certification; and has served as an engineering professional court expert.
Mohajer is currently working on a county-wide pavement management program, which will help fund short- and long-term plans to rehab county roadways. He is excited to begin working in his new role and looks forward to Henry County’s success.
